Introduction
Welcome to Lock Builds. In this guide we will be taking a look at how to prevent an opponent Vindicta from snowballing in Deadlock.

Understanding Vindicta
To understand how to takedown a hero in Deadlock, we need to first understand how the character works. Their strengths and weaknesses.
Vindicta is a Marksman character, and relies heavily on her Flight ability to float in the air and keep her distance from the opponents. Most of her Builds rely heavily on her Ultimate ability, Assassinate. This ability basically allows her to use a heavy hitting scoped sniper rifle, which makes it quite easy for her to pick enemies from great distances.
Items and Heroes to Use Against Vindicta
Let’s take a quick look at the items/heroes that can be used to take care of Vindicta:
Knockdown
Knockdown is probably the best item you can use to take care of Vindicta if you notice that she is getting close to snowballing. What the item does is it applies a stun on a target for 2 seconds. Now, the place where it shines is its stun duration on airborne targets. Against heroes like Vindicta or Gray Tralon, the stun duration is .25 seconds more. This duration is enough to dive towards her and finish her off.
I often notice that players who use Knockdown on targets couldn’t follow up with enough damage to utilize the item. In that case, I suggest that you coordinate with your team. Just let them know that you have purchased Knockdown, and whenever you use the item on a target they need to “hard dive” towards them.
Phantom Strike
Another very useful item that I use for bringing my Vindictas down is the Phantom Strike. If you use Phantom Strike towards a flying Vindicta, you will bring her down to the ground, disarming and slowing her for 3 seconds. This duration should be enough for your steam to take her down. Again, you will have to coordinate your plan with your team beforehand for this setup to work.
I play Mo & Krill a lot. Whenever I see a Vindicta, I buy the Phantom Strike and keep my Ultimate ready to use. As soon as I spot her, I use the item on her and immediately use my ult on her to keep her grounded for a decent amount of time. Very useful technique.
Seven
When it comes to stunning targets, Seven has to be the answer for your problems. Seven has an ability called Static Charge. When you use this ability on a target it stuns the target after a short duration. You can do the same with Vindicta. If you have a Vindicta as your opponent, keep your Static Charge just for her. If she is flying a bit too high for you to reach her, just get some elevation and jump towards her to lower the distance, and then use your Static Charge on her. Don’t forget to pre-place your Lighting Ball at the location where you think she is about to fall. You can do some crazy damage with this technique.
